Awards Season Best Dressed

With the Oscar winners announced on Sunday, so ends this awards season… There were some truly spectacular gowns, but a few stars in particular really rocked it out on The Red Carpet:

Jennifer Aniston had some fun this year and really demonstrated the “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” mentality in some striking ensembles that showed off her killer figure!

Emma Stone looked youthful and cheeky in an array of funky outfits that fit her personality perfectly! It’s the fact that Emma stays so true to herself that puts her at the top of our “Celebrity BFF” Wish List 😉

Reese Witherspoon played to her strengths on the Red Carpet this year in an assortment of column gowns with varying necklines that fit her perfectly. While she might have played it a “little” safe, she looked flawless and stunning each time, thus demonstrating, “Why mess with a good thing?”

Felicity Jones was a breath of fresh air on the red carpet this year in some of the most varied dresses I’ve ever seen on a starlet in an awards’ year! Though her Oscars gown was not my favorite, I love that Felicity remained full of surprises and never played it safe.

Keira Knightley absolutely KILLED IT this year in some of the most gorgeous gowns I have ever seen! Her unique choices of prints and textures were genius and her style went above and beyond “Maternity” and thus setting a new bar in “Bohemian Couture.”

Honorable Mention: while Sienna Miller didn’t frequent the red carpet this awards season, her two appearances elicited two of my favorite gowns of the year.

Red Carpet Picks: 2015 Academy Awards!!!

It’s the night I wait for all year, the red carpet at The Oscars!!! Last night showed a bevy of beautiful gowns that I couldn’t wait to report on this morning. Normally I go to bed deliberating and wake-up the following morning still trying to decide, but this list was much easier than usual. My top 6 were the same as they were last night (with some flip-flopping back and forth between 1 and 2) while picks 7-10 required a second glance.

9. Jennifer Aniston has really spiced things up this awards season by playing it a little less-than-safe on the red carpet. Last night she donned a blush-colored beaded gown by Versace that not only hugged her amazing figure but also had us playing peek-a-boo with its perfectly placed sheer panels. 8. Meryl Streep makes her 18th appearance on the Oscars Red Carpet in one of her best looks ever! This year she wore a custom Lanvin gown (that showed off a bit of leg) with a blazer. I love how she always stays true to her own personal style and the way she carries herself like, “I’m F’in Meryl Streep.” Love me some Meryl! 7. Emma Stone sparkled in a backless beaded gown with high slit from Elie Saab! Leave it to Miss Stone to wear a bold color like chartreuse to the Academy Awards 😉 Photo Source.Emma Stone in Elie Saab at the 87th Annual Academy Awards // 2015 Oscars Red Carpet

6. Marion Cotillard’s Red Carpet style is usually a little adventurous and her Dior Couture gown from last night is no exception… Most people will either love it or hate it, but those opinions don’t seem to deter Ms. Cotillard from sticking to her guns when it comes to fashion– and for that, we applaud her! 5. Lupita Nyong’o was bedeckd in pearls on the Red Carpet in this custom gown from Calvin Klein Collection! Let me preface by saying that this gown WOULD NOT work on just anyone, but on Lupita– it is fantastic! Last year, Lupita led the charge of awards season fashion that culminated in a perfect Oscar moment for her made even more memorable by her array of incredible gowns. I’m not sure that this one tops her gown from last year, but it is a brilliant follow-up to 2014. Photo Source.

4. Hannah Bagshawe looked beautiful and proud on the arm of her new husband, Eddie Redmayne. While she has been striking all awards season, this belted gown by Alexander McQueen stuck in my head from the first time I saw it.  3. Rosamund Pike finally nailed it on The Red Carpet! Just in time too 😉 I’ve been waiting to see when Rosamund would break out in Hollywood ever since I saw her in “Pride & Prejudice” back in 2005. So, when I saw she was to play Amy in “Gone Girl” I was incredibly excited! Even more so when there was some “award buzz” over the movie. This decade of waiting made me really eager to see what she would wear this award season and I have thus far been a little let down– mainly because I think she’s so magnificent! However, last night when I saw her in that ravishing red Givenchy gown, my spirits were quickly uplifted. Photo Source.

 2. Sienna Miller surprised all when she showed up in a gown from Peter Copping’s first collection for Oscar de la Renta that made its appearance on the runway at Fashion Week in New York a mere 5 days before. This is Copping’s first red carpet gown and I hope it’s an example of what we can expect in the future. Oscar was beloved by startlets and his shoes will be hard to fill, but hopefully this showing by Sienna will kick his career off on a good note 😉 The dress itself is made of navy guipure lace and floral macrame with velvet ribbon. In a long shot it’s hard to see all the detail that makes this dress so exquisite, but you can find some close-ups here. Photo Source.

1. Keira Knightley rounds off what has been a spectacular awards season showing in this incredible Valentino gown! Her chic bohemian gowns of 2015 went above and beyond maternity fashion and made you forget she was even sporting a bump under there. Everything about this gown is perfection: the nude coloring, floral embroidery, chiffon skirt, scalloped waist… all of it! You have been fabulous all season Mrs. Knightley, BRAVO!!! 12. Anna Kendrick – I love that Anna went a little gutsy on The Red Carpet and sported a plunging tux.

11. Beyonce in Proenza Schouler: Beyonce stunned on The Red Carpet as per usual, but it felt a little “safe” for her.

10. Rihanna in Giambattista Valli: I know she has gotten some flack about her confection of a gown, but I love a risk on The Red Carpet and Rihanna can work pretty much anything.

9. Since these three dresses were so similar (but still fabulous) I couldn’t choose one over the other, so I gave them a three-way tie in the #9 spot: Jessie J in Ralph & Russso, Kat Graham in Yanina Couture, and Meghan Trainor in Galia Lahav.

8. Miranda Lambert in Gabriela Cadena: My girl, Miranda, looked svelt and fabulous in her black gown with magenta straps and cut-outs at the waist. Love the dress Miranda, but we are DYING to see you with an updo.

7. Katy Perry in Zuhair Murad: Katy sparkled on The Red Capret in a dress bedecked in dangling jewels. I love how her lavender hair added a bit of funk to an incredibly glamorous gown.

6. Iggy Azalea in Armani: I really loved Iggy’s gown and I really respect that she wore a statement updo when she has such a strong face. Most women wouldn’t have the confidence, but I love how she owns it.

5. Jhene Aiko in Alberta Ferretti: I love this overall look! The dress is soft and feminine while her hair and makeup is kind of sultry. Definitely one of the most unique gowns at The Grammys this year.

4. Lena Hall: I cannot get over this smokey grey gown! It is BEAUTIFUL – a classic silhouette in a modern color. Against Lena’s pale skin and dark hair the color simply stuns! Team it with her natural lip color and just-a-little-smokey eye and you’ve got one of the best H2T looks of the evening.

3. Charli XCX in Moschino: Of course there are going to be some people that hate on this tux, but I’m not one of them. I believe you have to factor in the personality of who is wearing the look, and for Charli XCX this ensemble makes a lot of sense.

2. Chrissy Teigen in Emilio Pucci: Chrissy, Chrissy… how much do I love thee? Let me count the ways 😉 Chrissy NEVER disappoints on The Red Carpet. She somehow always manages to pull off something unique while remaining true to herself.

1. Taylor Swift in Elie Saab: As far as I’m concerned, Taylor won The Red Carpet this time… That gown was amazing and totally Taylor!  LOVE the teal ombre with a little sparkle AND that pop of purple from her Giuseppe Zanotti Heels. It’s the first time she has worn her hair down since her 2008 Grammy Award appearance and I felt it was the right choice with her short cut that EVERYONE is talking about. Go get it Miss Swift! You looked stunning!
