NYFW: Spring/Summer 2016 Ready-to-Wear (Day 1)

It’s fashion month people! Woop woop! If you need to find me for the next 30 days, I’ll be glued to the computer screen hitting the refresh button to review the latest runways 😉 I will then post my thoughts HERE on the Wild Souls blog! Why do I do this? It’s not just because I love fashion, but because I love you guys too 😉

Nicholas K kicked off fashion week with a flight suit-inspired runway that felt futuristic and utilitarian. Details like oversized hoods, rope accessories, and well-placed ombre brought the collection together.

The BCBG Max Azria runway was as fun as ever– with some strong 90s aspects, the collection felt like a flash back with a modern twist. Trends that carried through included bucket hats, dresses layered over blouses, leg warmers, and gaucho board shorts that I’m sure we’ll see all over next spring.

Erin Fetherston always brings forward a runway packed with pieces we all really want to wear, and today was no exception. Her beautifully feminine looks were flirty and playful and I want them all in my closet!

Leanne Marshall’s runway was breathtaking! Her enchanting designs seemed inspired by nymphs of the wood and sea 😉

Sumpima’s collection reminds us of all the unique and beautiful things you can make from cotton.

Tadashi Shoji does it again! A beautiful collection of intricately feminine pieces that have us counting the days until awards season.

Desigual did what they do best: a bright and fun runway that leaves you feeling optimistic. Model’s sported bedecked headphones and faux-hawk headpieces… some even posed with selfie cameras.

Tome delivered on the oversized and exaggerated… and one badass fish print 😉

The Ohne Titel runway had something for everyone, switching from fit and flare dresses that were perfect for a summer’s day, to trousers perfect for a night out, and bodysuits paired with ingenious layering pieces that I’m sure we’ll see on the most fashion forward girls of summer.
